West Virginia's Worley suspended indefinitely for 'a violation of team rules'

Just days before a pivotal meeting with No. 4 Oklahoma, West Virginia announced Monday night that starting cornerback Daryl Worley has been suspended indefinitely.

Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgorsen said the suspension was for "a violation of team rules," though no further information was provided.

Worley had started all three games so far this year, recording 17 tackles and a team-high two interceptions. The sophomore also started five games as a freshman in 2013.

On the positive side, at least the Mountaineers have someone ready to step in for Worley - senior cornerback Ishmael Banks returns this week from a three-game academic suspension and will move into Worley's place in the starting lineup.
