The Syracuse Orange got all they could handle from the Villanova Wildcats on Friday night. The Orange played the entire second half without starting quarterback Terrel Hunt after he was ejected for throwing a punch, but managed to hang on to win 27-26 in double overtime.

With the game tied at 20 and facing a fourth down in double OT, Syracuse dug deep into the playbook and went with a fake field goal. Punter Riley Dixon, the holder on the fake attempt, found Kendall Moore in the end zone, giving the Orange a 27-20 lead following the extra point.

The Wildcats scored a touchdown of their own and had a chance to tie, but they elected to go for the win, but their two-point conversion try was no good and Syracuse escaped with the 27-26 victory.
