Rutgers adds ex-Louisville starter Kyle Bolin to QB mix

Jamie Rhodes / USA TODAY Sports

Former Louisville quarterback Kyle Bolin, a five-game starter in 2015, announced Wednesday he's heading to Rutgers as a graduate transfer.

The 6-foot-2 righty will have a golden opportunity to claim the starting job at Rutgers, which is desperate for quarterback stability after recently losing Zach Allen to a torn ACL.

Bolin racked up 2,104 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions across three seasons at Louisville. He attracted transfer interest from Texas, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, and Southern Miss, before opting to take his talents to the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers went 2-10 last year in Chris Ash's first season as head coach.
