Miami's Jack Allison to transfer out of program

Jack Allison's Miami career has ended before he even hit the field.

The Hurricanes announced Tuesday that the quarterback will transfer out of the program. Allison was competing for the starting job but told head coach Mark Richt he felt he may have better opportunities elsewhere.

A former four-star recruit from the 2016 class, Allison had a tough spring after reportedly suffering a separated shoulder during a scrimmage, and seemed unlikely to capture the starting role.

Richt now has one less name to choose from in his search to replace Brad Kaaya.
