Tom Herman and Cardale Jones made some beautiful music together as offensive coordinator and quarterback in Ohio State's run to the 2014 National Championship, and the bond they formed then is just as strong today.

So strong in fact, that the new Texas coach is skipping a meeting with popular artists Migos and Chance the Rapper in May to attend Jones' graduation in Columbus with his wife.

"It's really cool to see how he's matured," Herman told Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports. "Migos and Chance the Rapper were gonna be here (in Austin) on Sunday, the seventh and wanted to meet me. I said 'No, I'm gonna be in Columbus.'"

Jones' story with Herman at Ohio State is one of legend as the Cleveland native made his first start ever in the Big Ten title game against Wisconsin, after starting pivot J.T. Barrett suffered a season-ending injury. Jones led the Buckeyes to a massive 59-0 win over the Badgers, putting them in the College Football Playoff semifinal against Alabama.

Jones would throw for 243 yards and a score in the win over the Crimson Tide before matching that with 242 yards passing and a score against Oregon in the national championship.

Herman is now at Texas and Jones would parlay his college success into an NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, but despite the distance between the two, the bond is something that will never be broken.
