Wilton Speight struggles massively in Michigan's spring game

If Wilton Speight was the leader in the clubhouse for Michigan's quarterback job, he may have invited company Saturday with his dismal spring game performance.

The incumbent starter struggled big time against his own defense, going 9-of-23 in the first half. The second half didn't prove much better:

Speight tossed for 2,538 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions last year, but struggled down the stretch - at least partly due to an injured shoulder.

He's presumably the heavy favorite to win Michigan's starting job again this year, but true freshman Brandon Peters gave Jim Harbaugh something to think about with a standout performance Saturday.

John O'Korn also had his moments, leading the Blue team on a go-ahead drive late in the fourth quarter. The Maize team won on a last-second field goal.
