The NCAA will give $200 million to college athletic departments across the country - ranging from $165,000 to $1.3 million - in a one-time supplemental distribution, according to Steve Berkowitz of USA Today.

Following approval by the NCAA Board of Governors and the Division I Board of Directors a year ago, schools will receive payments based on credits earned during the 2013-14 year for every scholarship awarded. Partial scholarships may also be added together to equal the value of a full one.

Schools with the largest athletic departments and varsity teams will receive payments closer to the $1.3-million mark, highlighted by Ohio State receiving the maximum amount, due to sponsoring nearly 404 scholarships.

Eight other schools will receive over $1 million: Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina, Penn State, Stanford, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Davidson, on the other hand, will receive $165,000 after sponsoring just over 50 scholarships.

The payments will occur in mid-April.
