Tom Herman landed a major commitment for his squad's 2018 class on Saturday, as four-star athlete Justin Watkins flipped his pledge to Texas from Florida State.

Watkins had been committed to the Seminoles for nine months, but made the decision to head west to the Big 12 during a trip to the Austin campus on Saturday.

The 6-foot, 173-pounder is ranked as the No. 1 athlete in the class of 2018 and the 10th overall prospect on the ESPN 300. He held offers from a number of top programs, including the Seminoles, Clemson, Alabama, and Florida before deciding on Texas.

Herman's ability to land a massive Florida prospect speaks volumes about his talent as a recruiter, and should help the new Longhorns coach land a very strong class for 2018.
