Bo Davis is the newest member of the UTSA staff, the team announced Wednesday. The former Alabama defensive line coach will fill the same role with the Roadrunners.

"Adding a coach with an outstanding pedigree like Bo Davis is a coup for UTSA," head coach Frank Wilson said. "He's won at every level, on the biggest stages, and in the biggest moments. He's an outstanding teacher and recruiter and he has coached nationally acclaimed defensive linemen everywhere he's been. He will be a tremendous asset to UTSA, and he gives us continued credibility in the direction this program is headed. It's an honor to have him be a part of our staff."

Davis is known as a strong recruiter, but his time with the Crimson Tide ended abruptly after being fired last April. He was alleged to have impermissible contact with recruits, though the NCAA has still not made a ruling on the case.

"I am very grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the Roadrunner family," Davis said. "I'd like to thank Coach Wilson and (Director of Athletics) Lynn Hickey for giving me the chance to join a great coaching staff at UTSA. I am looking forward to an exciting future in San Antonio."

During his time with the Crimson Tide, Davis helped Alabama to the national title in 2015.
