Report: Ex-Tennessee tailback Hurd to visit Louisville

Randy Sartin / USA TODAY Sports

Jalen Hurd's hunt for a new team reportedly involves Louisville, as the ex-Tennessee star tailback will visit the Cardinals over the weekend, three sources told Jody Demling of Scout.

Hurd has been without a program since he departed the Volunteers midseason after he grew unhappy with his role in the offense. The former 1,000-yard rusher is reportedly still keen on transitioning into a tight end, wherever he lands.

Hurd, who was on pace to become the Vols' all-time leading rusher, will need to sit out the 2017 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He left Tennessee before completing his undergraduate degree.

Other teams reportedly in the mix for the Hendersonville, Tenn., native's services include Ohio State, Cal, and Oregon.
