Notre Dame snags commitment from 2018 4-star CB Kalon Gervin

Brian Kelly scored a big commitment Monday to shore up Notre Dame's secondary in the future, landing four-star cornerback Kalon Gervin for the Fighting Irish's 2018 class.

The 5-foot-11, 183-pounder is ranked the 27th-best player at his position in his class, and is listed as the 201st overall prospect on the ESPN 300.

The Detroit native fielded offers from a number of top programs, including Florida, LSU, Wisconsin, Penn State, and local powerhouse Michigan, before deciding to head to South Bend.

Gervin's commitment gives Kelly six players on the ESPN 300 for the 2018 class, including highly ranked quarterback Phil Jurkovec.
