Former Michigan wide receiver Freddy Canteen is headed to Notre Dame as a graduate transfer, a source told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.

Canteen, who didn't play in 2016, in part because of shoulder issues, will have two years of eligibility remaining and can suit up for the Fighting Irish immediately. He recorded six receptions and one touchdown in his career with the Wolverines.

Canteen appeared to confirm South Bend as his landing spot Saturday evening:

Notre Dame has a fairly young receiving core, but lost starter Torii Hunter Jr. to graduation at the end of the 2016 campaign.
