Welcome to North Carolina, Stanton Truitt

The Auburn graduate transfer announced Sunday he's committed to the Tar Heels to complete his college career. Truitt still has two years of eligibility remaining, and elected to go with North Carolina over offers from programs including Kansas State, Miami, and Virginia Tech.

"I love North Carolina," Truitt told Ryan Bartow of 247Sports. "I loved it. Just the school. The Business Department especially to get my Master's Degree. I got to hang out with the players and coaches. Everything is straight. My family trusted them and one another there.

"It's a no brainer," Truitt added. "The opportunity is there. I saw the film and saw everything I can do."

Truitt's commitment is a nice addition for head coach Larry Fedora, as the program is in need of a replacement for last year's star running back Elijah Hood, who declared for the 2017 NFL Draft on Jan. 6.

Truitt didn't have much opportunity to make a name for himself at Auburn, registering just 215 rushing yards on 37 carries from 2014-16.

He'll likely compete for the starting job in the Tar Heels' backfield with returning sophomore Jordon Brown and incoming four-star recruits C.J. Cotman and Michael Carter.
