Report: Fleck grabs Ohio State's Warinner for Minnesota assistant job

P.J. Fleck appears to be wasting no time in making his mark on the Minnesota football program, as a source told Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated that Ohio State co-offensive coordinator Ed Warinner will be the new Golden Gophers offensive line coach.

The move would represent a massive coup for Minnesota, as Warinner was an absolute star in coaching the Buckeyes' offensive line from 2012-2015 before focusing on the tight ends this past season. He also served as offensive coordinator or co-offensive coordinator throughout those seasons.

Fleck certainly has his work cut out for him in turning around the Golden Gophers' 63rd-ranked offense from 2016, but if he can bring in big-name hires such as Warinner, he's headed in the right direction.
