Iowa's Akrum Wadley: Returning for senior season

Wadley announced Thursday that he will return to Iowa for his senior season, ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reports.

Analysis:

Wadley's breakout season in 2016 led to some speculation that he'd declare for the upcoming draft, but the shifty runner will be back in Iowa City for his final season of eligibility. He led the team in rushing with 1,081 yards despite seeing 45 less carries than his backfield counterpart, LeShun Daniels. Wadley will be one of the more explosive running backs in the nation in 2017 and with Daniels gone, he should push for 200 carries behind a talented Iowa offensive line. Additionally, Wadley underwent a minor knee procedure this week, but he figures to be ready for the start of offseason workouts.
