Baylor hires Ole Miss' Matt Lubick as new offensive coordinator

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Lubick's second stint with Ole Miss didn't even last a month.

The man behind Oregon's offense last season agreed to join Hugh Freeze's staff as wide receivers coach on Dec. 22, but now is reportedly on the move again, this time accepting the open offensive coordinator position at Baylor, Freeze confirmed to Parrish Alford of The Daily Journal.

Lubick will join head coach Matt Rhule's staff and fill the role vacated by Kendall Briles, who was hired by Lane Kiffin for the same role at FAU.

A change of scenery could bode well for Lubick after Oregon's offense struggled mightily last season, his first as an offensive coordinator. Lubick has been regarded as an accomplished wide receivers coach, having won the Wide Receivers Coach of the Year award in 2012 while at Duke.
