Carolina Panthers quarterback and ex-Auburn standout Cam Newton granted the Christmas wish of a 10-year-old fan fighting a severe heart condition.
Newton visited Taylor Deckard at a hospital in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon, after Courtney Cooper, a Lakewood Elementary school teacher, started a campaign on social media.
A die-hard Tigers fan, Deckard told Cooper he "wished Cam Newton could come to his birthday party."
"Austin may not ever make it to an Auburn football game but I know social media is a strong force that can make things happen," Cooper wrote. "Let's use it for something positive and spread this like wildfire and somehow, someway get the word to Cam Newton and give this precious little boy his wish."
