Report: Rudolph, Washington expected to return to Oklahoma State

Rob Ferguson / USA TODAY Sports

Oklahoma State could be returning two big pieces to their offense next season.

Standout quarterback Mason Rudolph and wide receiver James Washington are expected to return to the Cowboys for their senior seasons, according to Jenni Carlson of The Oklahoman, citing a source close to the program.

Rudolph's return would give the Cowboys one of the strongest returning quarterbacks next season, coming off a season in which he led the team to a 9-3 record and a birth in the Alamo Bowl. Rudolph completed 63 percent of his passes for 3,777 yards and 25 touchdowns while throwing just four interceptions.

Washington served as Rudolph's favorite target this season, finishing with 1,209 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. It's the second consecutive season that Washington eclipsed the 1,000-yard plateau.

Linebacker Chad Whitener was also mentioned in the report as likely to return for a final season at Oklahoma State. He played in all but one game this season, recording 68 tackles and one sack.
