Report: North Carolina's Fedora turned down Houston job offer

Mark Dolejs-USA TODAY Sports

North Carolina's Larry Fedora rejected an offer to become Houston's next head coach, a source told CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd.

Fedora, a native Texan, was previously linked to the Baylor vacancy, but wasn't rumored to be of interest to Houston.

The 54-year-old is winding down his fifth season with the Tar Heels, and is 40-24 at the ACC program. He spent four years at Southern Miss before that, and went 34-19.

Houston officials are reportedly set to meet Thursday night, where they're expected to wrap up the search process.
