Harbaugh excited to see FSU's Chief Osceola, Renegade at Orange Bowl

Count Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh as a big supporter of Chief Osceola and Renegade riding out onto the field and planting a flaming spear at midfield before every Florida State home game.

"I've always wanted to go there and see what that atmosphere was like in person," Harbaugh said according to Wayne E. McGahee III of the Tallahassee Democrat. "This will be as close as I've ever been to that. I'm excited for that. I know I'm going to get some chills when that Appaloosa comes riding out there."

Michigan and Florida State will meet in the Orange Bowl, and since it's a neutral-site game, the Seminoles would have to receive permission to perform their pregame home ritual.

"Well, you have our permission," Harbaugh said.

"I want to see that. That's one of the cool things ... We have cool things and other teams have cool things, but that is right up there as one of the coolest things."

Once Harbaugh's comments were made, news traveled quickly to university officials, where the associate athletic director tweeted Osceola and Renegade will be traveling to the Orange Bowl.

It truly is one of college football's most iconic traditions.
