Alabama, Ohio State open as favorites in CFP semis

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The final CFP rankings dropped at 12:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, unveiling who the final four teams would be that compete for a national championship, and within minutes oddsmakers already had lines for both semifinal matchups.

The undisputed No. 1 team in the country is Alabama, and the betting line reflects that as the Crimson Tide are 14-point favorites for the Peach Bowl against Washington.

The other semifinal is the Fiesta Bowl which has Urban Meyer and Ohio State listed as 3-point favorites over ACC champion Clemson.

Interestingly enough, both Clemson and Alabama were in this position last year for the CFP semifinals.

The Tigers entered their Orange Bowl matchup with Oklahoma as 3.5-point underdogs, but proved to be too much for the Sooners in a 37-17 win. Alabama faced off against Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl as 9.5-point favorites, and absolutely crushed the Spartans 38-0.
