Penn State just won Big Ten as 60/1 underdogs

Coming off a 7-6 season and having lost one of the most prolific quarterbacks in program history, Penn State was not expected to challenge for the Big Ten title.

Sitting in a division with preseason No. 6 Ohio State and No. 7 Michigan, it was considered a long shot to even win the division.

After four weeks of the season, Penn State sat 2-2 and had just lost 49-10 to the Wolverines. Not even the most ardent Nittany Lions supporter would have thought James Franklin's club had a chance at the title.

A three-point win over Minnesota and a 38-14 beatdown of Maryland certainly pointed the program back in the right direction, but it was the impressive 24-21 victory over the second-ranked Buckeyes that set things up for this stunning run.

All the pieces fell in to place for the Nittany Lions, with Michigan losing to Iowa and Ohio State, and Wisconsin's starting quarterback Alex Hornibrook being ruled out for the Big Ten title game.

An epic comeback gave Penn State the title, and to those who had the fortitude to lay a wager at 60/1 before the season, drinks are on you.
