4-star LB Willie Gay decommits from Ole Miss

Shanna Lockwood / USA TODAY Sports

Four months seems to have been enough for Willie Gay to change his mind about going to Ole Miss.

The four-star recruit announced his decommitment from the Rebels on Monday, thanking fans and coaches for their support.

Gay was offered by a number of high profile programs before his commitment, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

The 214th ranked player on the 2017 ESPN 300 didn't give any sort of hint where he may be interested in going next.

The Rebels now have three ESPN 300 recruits for 2017, wide receiver D.D. Bowie (63rd), defensive end Bryan Jones (174th), and linebacker Josh Clarke (289th). Ole Miss' overall recruit total for 2017 now sits at 11.
