UCLA's Andrew Strauch: Competition opened at kicker

UCLA has opened competition at placekicker, with both Strauch and incumbent J.J. Molson now vying for the starting role, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

Head coach Jim Mora tells the Times that his staff opened competition at placekicker after Molson missed two field goals attempts against Arizona State on Oct. 8. Strauch subsequently kicked UCLA's first extra point try in Saturday's contest at Washington State, while Molson handled the next two. Both converted their respective PATs, but neither was provided the opportunity to attempt a field goal in the defeat. Fantasy owners should expect the competition to carry over to an Oct. 22 showdown with Utah.
