Fournette's status 'up in the air' for clash with Missouri

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

There's no question a big part of LSU's struggles this year are related to the quarterback position, but a banged-up Leonard Fournette isn't helping matters either.

The Tigers running back continues to be slowed by a lingering ankle issue, and interim head coach Ed Orgeron says his status for Saturday's game against Missouri is uncertain.

"It's up in the air right now," Orgeron told Ross Dellenger of The Advocate. "Will be a game-time decision. Obviously, for any injury, we won't play him."

Fournette's only found the end zone twice in three contests this season, and missed a game earlier this month against Jacksonville State because of the injury.

It's been a tough week for LSU fans with the firing of Les Miles, and having Fournette miss a crucial conference matchup would only add to the pain.
