Jimbo Fisher plans on being at Florida State for 'a long time'

This might sound familiar - a coach plans to stay where he's currently coaching for a long time.

That's exactly what Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher said Wednesday, amid talk he may jump ship to LSU.

"I love this university," Fisher told Jared Shanker of ESPN, "and I plan on being here for a long time. I love Florida State, and that's all I'm saying. Anything else is clutter and does not concern me and is not involving me."

Some believe Fisher is LSU's top target to replace Les Miles. The 50-year-old was a Tigers offensive assistant from 2000-06, and helped them to a national title in 2003.

Fisher has enjoyed his greatest success with the Seminoles, though, including a national championship in 2013. With Florida State entrenched as one of the nation's top coaching jobs and perhaps with an easier playoff path than any SEC school, it could take a lot for the Tigers to pry him away.
