With many in the college football universe weighing in on the potential directions for Big 12 expansion, Oklahoma State booster T. Boone Pickens does not want to be left out of the discussion.

According to Kirk Bohls of The Austin American-Statesman, Pickens made his opinion known during an interview for the Statesman's "On Second Thought" podcast that he thinks the 10-team format of the Big 12 should remain the same, but that if the conference should expand, Houston and SMU should receive invitations.

Pickens also took the opportunity to fire shots at Oklahoma and president David Boren, saying he has been wishy-washy about the idea of expansion and suggested that "maybe its time for David to retire."

"I've known David forever," Pickens added. "He likes to talk. He gets a little bit confused sometimes."

Boren said Tuesday that Oklahoma had formed an opinion on Big 12 expansion, refuting earlier reports that he had taken a stance against the idea of adding two more schools to the conference.
