Michigan's De'Veon Smith: Reaches century mark, paydirt Saturday against Penn State

Smith had 12 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown Saturday and added three grabs for 16 yards in a win over Penn State.

Analysis:

Smith and the Wolverines' rushing attack was able to take advantage of a depleted Penn State front to average 6.7 yards per carry as a team. The 228-pound Smith tore off 8.9 YPC in his own right as he was able to bulldoze his way through the defense. Unfortunately, Smith didn't see many red zone opportunities as Karan Higdon and Chris Evans were both able to punch in goal line chances. Michigan's deep running back rotation does limit Smith's touchdown upside, but he will continue to be the de facto workhorse in the Michigan run game.
