Tale of the Tape: Miles vs. Malzahn in a 'Loser Leaves Town' match

A "Loser Leaves Town" match is a popular promotion in wrestling where the loser of a bout is forced to retire from the promotion they are currently wrestling under.

Saturday's SEC contest between LSU and Auburn is probably the latest incarnation of that type of fight, with Les Miles or Gus Malzahn likely headed for the unemployment line following a loss.

Miles certainly has more of a case to keep his current position, posting an 8-4 record in the Tigers' last 12 against Power 5 opponents. While many schools would be thrilled with that type of production, LSU is not like most schools, and the "Mad Hatter" has been on the hot seat for weeks.

Malzahn has certainly undone the goodwill he earned with an SEC championship in his first season as head coach. An 8-5 mark in 2014 followed by a 7-6 2015 campaign had the 50-year-old on the hot seat entering this season. A 1-2 start hasn't cooled it any, and Malzahn is now an awful 3-9 in Auburn's last 12 against Power 5 competition.

Here's the tape of the tape for the two embattled coaches.

Les Miles

Age: 62
Hometown: Elyria, Ohio
Nickname: 'Mad Hatter'
Costume: Windbreaker with white hat
Salary: $4.3 million per year
Record with LSU: 114-33

National Titles: 1
Fun Fact: Eats grass during games
Finishing Move: The "Louisiana Fake"

Gus Malzahn

Age: 50
Hometown: Irving, Texas
Nickname: None
Costume: Orange sweater vest with visor
Salary: $5.4 million per year
Record with Auburn: 28-15
Conference Titles: 1
National Titles: 0
Fun Fact: Was first head coach to win SEC championship in first season since 1947
Finishing Move: The "Kick-Six"

Kickoff for the high-profile bout is 6:00 p.m ET, with plenty on the line other than just a big SEC win.

Will it be Malzahn who emerges victorious to finally quiet the critics?

Or will Miles lead his Tigers to victory on the plains, cooling his hot seat ahead of another conference game versus Missouri?
