Rudolph breaks Oklahoma State's passing mark in win over Pitt

Move over, Brandon Weeden - there's a new lead sheriff in Stillwater.

With 540 passing yards in Saturday's nail-biting win over Pitt, Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph set a school record for passing yards in a single game. The old mark was held by Weeden, who threw for 502 yards against Kansas State in 2011.

Astoundingly, Rudolph reached his total on just 26 completions. He threw the ball 46 times in all, and finished the game with a pair of touchdowns.

Oklahoma State, which suffered an excruciating and controversial loss one week ago to Central Michigan, rebounded to defeat the previously unbeaten Panthers by a score of 45-38.

While Rudolph made history Saturday, his teammate and receiver James Washington fell just shy of making his own. Washington recorded 296 receiving yards and a pair of scores on nine catches, falling just four yards short of breaking the Cowboys' single-game receiving record of 300 yards, established in 2006 by Adarius Bowman.

The Pokes moved to 2-1 with the victory and open the conference portion of their schedule next week at Baylor.
