Report: Over 30 Charleston Southern players suspended vs. Florida State

Peter Casey / USA TODAY Sports

Charleston Southern faces the tall task of playing Florida State on the road Saturday, and it appears the Buccaneers may have to do so without almost half their team.

Running back Ben Robinson posted a message to Facebook late Thursday night stating that over 30 players had been suspended for using book money to purchase other supplies in the campus bookstore.

With just 63 scholarship players on FCS rosters, having 30 players absent would be crippling for Charleston Southern against a powerhouse like Florida State.

Receiver Colton Korn, who's been with the program for four years, also posted about the incident.

There hasn't been any official word from the school confirming or denying Robinson's report, but with kickoff slated for 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, the school will likely make an announcement at some point Friday.
