Florida State strength coach Vic Viloria was arrested and charged early Saturday morning for driving under the influence and property damage, according to Karl Etters of the Tallahassee Democrat.

Viloria was asleep at the wheel, but his truck was still in drive, according to the police report. An officer tried to wake the coach for several minutes, but when he succeeded, Viloria didn't seem to notice him before driving away and up an embankment, hitting an electronic crosswalk sign, and just missing a utility pole before he was pulled over. Viloria admitted to police that he'd consumed multiple "big" alcoholic beverages at work prior to getting into his vehicle.

Viloria, who's been strength and conditioning coach at FSU for the last six seasons, had a blood alcohol level of .124.

"We are aware of the reported incident and are in the process of gathering more information. The issue falls under the human resources policies for university employees, which restricts further comment at this time," the school said in statement.

Viloria signed a contract extension in July that runs until the year 2019 .

The Seminoles open the 2016 season Sept. 5 against Ole Miss in Orlando.
