Auburn's Malik Miller: Could see carries in 2016

Miller, a freshman and early enrollee who was initially expected to redshirt, could now see time in Auburn's backfield after the Tigers lost their top three running backs from last season, AL.com reports.

Analysis:

Kerryon Johnson is the presumed starter, and the Tigers are expected to use as many as five running backs in 2016, but Miller is ahead of fellow freshmen Kam Martin and Stephen Davis, Jr. on the depth chart. Johnson and Miller were teammates at Madison Academy on three AHSAA state championship squads. "Malik is a big guy, but Malik can also move," Johnson said after Thursday's practice. "Through the summer he trained very hard. I think he's probably been the most improved guy, overall, out of the whole group. He's done a fantastic job the first two days. He's really getting the offense quickly and he's learning that everyone on the team has a role and he's just trying to figure out his role for the season and how it fits in. I'm sure he will and when he does I think he'll be a really good force for us."
