Alabama's Cam Sims: Held out of scrimmage

Sims was held out of Saturday's scrimmage due to soreness in the knee he injured last spring, AL.com reports.

Analysis:

Sims is in the mix to play a significant role at wide receiver, and the move appears to be more precautionary than anything else. "We held him out basically because we thought it would be good for him to get three days (off)," [head coach Nick] Saban said. "We're not going to practice for the next two days ... so we wanted to take advantage of giving him some downtime that might be able to help him get back to 100 percent because he was having a really, really good camp."
