Baylor's Seth Russell: Time for the fifth year senior to lead

Russell has established himself as a leader of the Baylor football this summer, reports John Werner of the Waco Tribune-Herald.

Analysis:

In a tumultuous off-season for the Baylor football team, Russell's return from a broken neck is one of the bright spots for one of the best offenses in the nation. After Jarrett Stidham decided to transfer from the program in July, Russell is in line to lead the team this year as long as he can stay healthy. The Baylor offense returns five starters, including junior receiver KD Cannon. Before his injury in game seven last year, Russell completed 59.5% of his passes for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns. Even though the team has a new head coach in Jim Grobe, they're supposed to run the same offense which means Baylor likely will lead the conference in total offense again.
