Oklahoma's Rodney Anderson out for season with neck injury

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Oklahoma's Rodney Anderson will miss the 2016 season with a neck injury he suffered during practice on Thursday.

"I hate it for Rodney," said head coach Bob Stoops. "It didn't appear to be much of an injury at the time and there's no paralysis or anything like that. But we found out this afternoon that he will be out for the year. Rodney is a strong guy and will rebound from this just like he came back after missing most of last season."

Anderson missed all but one game last year when he sustained a leg injury in Oklahoma's second game against Tennessee.

The running back was a four-star recruit out of Katy, Texas, in the Sooners' 2015 class.
