Mississippi State's Keith Mixon: In the mix for reps in the slot

Mixon, a redshirt freshman and converted running back, should compete for opportunities at slot receiver this season with Gabe Myles and Malik Dear, the Clarion-Ledger reports.

Analysis:

"I think I can help them (with) big plays, bubble (screens), lot of jet sweeps," Mixon said. "Just spreading the ball around. They're moving Fred Ross around, and Malik Dear on the inside, it should open us up and make big plays for us." Mixon had 17 receptions in MSU's three scrimmages, the most of any player.
