Ex-LSU WR Tyron Johnson transferring to Oklahoma State

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Former LSU wide receiver Tyron Johnson is transferring to Oklahoma State, he confirmed to James Smith of NOLA.com.

"Oklahoma State has a lot to offer me," Johnson said. "I really like their staff and their offense is exactly what I was looking for. They were the school I initially thought of when I decided that transferring was the best option for me and I'm glad everything worked out."

Johnson, a former four-star recruit, posted nine catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns in nine contests for the Tigers last year. Upon announcing his decision to leave LSU, Johnson's father said the receiver wished to play in a more wide-open offense.

Johnson will be required to sit out the 2016 season to satisfy NCAA transfer requirements, but will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
