Central Michigan's Romello Ross out for season with ACL tear

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Central Michigan running back Romello Ross will miss the 2016 season due to a torn ACL, the team announced Thursday.

"I'm disappointed for Romello because he played an important role for us last season and was in position to continue to improve," head coach John Bonamego said. "I know he will work hard to be back for 2017."

Ross amassed 247 yards and four touchdowns on the ground last season while receiving 54 carries. His role with the team appeared to be increasing before the season-ending injury.
