Georgia State's Taz Bateman to miss 2016 season with ACL tear
Dale Zanine / US PRESSWIRE
Georgia State now has a hole at the running back position, as Taz Bateman will miss the 2016 season after tearing his ACL.
Panthers head coach Trent Miles made the announcement Monday, confirming the injury occurred during the first day of training camp, according to Doug Roberson of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Bateman rushed for 253 yards in 2015 during a season in which he suffered a broken arm and missed six games. The likes of Glenn Smith, Kyler Neal, and Kendrick Dorn will now be in the mix for the primary ball-carrying duties for the Panthers.
Bateman will receive a medical redshirt and have two years of eligibility left heading into 2017.
