Oklahoma State's Marcell Ateman: Undergoes foot surgery, no timetable for return

Ateman recently underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot and he could miss the first month of the season, John Helsley of The Oklahoman reports.

Analysis:

This is a potentially huge development for the Cowboys' receiving corps as Ateman was expected to take on an even bigger role this season following the departure of senior David Glidden. According to the report, Ateman injured his foot during a non-contact drill this summer. Ateman was Oklahoma State's third-leading receiver last season with 45 grabs for 766 yards (17.0 YPR) and five touchdowns. Should his absence drag well into the season, Jhajuan Seales, Austin Hayes, and Chris Lacy will have to combine to take the pressure off the team's top wideout, James Washington.
