Michigan State establishes Mike Sadler Legacy Football Scholarship Fund

Mike Sadler's name will forever be remembered in the hearts of former coaches, teammates, and Michigan State fans for his impact, and now his name will also represent opportunities for future Spartans.

Michigan State established the Mike Sadler Legacy Football Scholarship Fund on Wednesday, a scholarship created as an endowment for one Spartan football player each year, according to Matt Charboneau of The Detroit News.

The scholarship was created with the full cooperation of the Sadler family, and head coach Mark Dantonio passionately endorsed the choice of memorial for Sadler.

"Mike Sadler was a giver, not a taker," Dantonio said in a statement.

"Mike was about life. He would want to be remembered as a person who embraced life. His wit, character, passion and competitiveness will live on through the establishment of this legacy scholarship fund. Mike Sadler will forever be associated with the Spartan football program."
