Washington State director of athletics Bill Moos released a statement Monday regarding the investigation into the involvement of six Cougars football players in an incident in which fireworks caused two people to be hospitalized.

The players were confirmed by police to have been present at the party, but it is not yet known how involved the players actually were. One of the people hospitalized required reconstructive surgery to repair a broken jaw, and the other suffered what was called a "bloody wound on the back of his neck," according to Jacob Thorpe of the Spokesman.
