Georgia's Jurkovic seeks medical disqualification due to knee injuries

Georgia's Mirko Jurkovic seems to have had enough knee injuries to seek a medical disqualification from college football.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive lineman has had a plethora of knee troubles during his brief football career. Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart confirmed Jurkovic's decision, according to Seth Emerson of DawgNation, but added that the motion is not yet set in stone.

"The doctors have advised him that long term it would be better for him to put football down," Smart said.

Jurkovic lost his freshman season to a torn ACL suffered during a preseason practice, and was forced to miss time this spring after re-injuring the knee.

Jurkovic was a four-star recruit in the class of 2015 and was originally committed to Ohio State before choosing Georgia instead.
