Tennessee lands late commitment from 4-star DE Mykelle McDaniel

While most schools are focused on the 2017 recruiting class, Tennessee added a late member to its 2016 bunch, landing a commitment from four-star defensive end Mykelle McDaniel.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound McDaniel, who announced the decision on Twitter Saturday, was unable to previously sign with a school due to academic issues. He was declared eligible last week and signed for the Volunteers just days later.

McDaniel is ranked as the 36th-best recruit in the talent-rich state of Georgia, and comes in 41st on ESPN's list of defensive-end prospects. He'll be able to play immediately in the 2016 season, although his arrival at school will be well behind the rest of this season's recruiting class.
