Michigan most popular pick to win national championship

A surprise team is being picked by many to win the national championship.

The Michigan Wolverines are the most popular pick in Las Vegas to win college football's biggest prize this season, according to David Purham of ESPN.

There's certainly no doubt a revamped program under head coach Jim Harbaugh is on the rise, but teams like Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and potentially a few others are likely closer to a national title than Michigan. The Wolverines need to find a reliable pivot to take over for Jake Rudock if they hope to be in the conversation this year.

That being said, Harbaugh is known for getting the most out of his teams without elite quarterback play, and if not for a botched punt would have had 11 wins in his first season at Ann Arbor, so maybe the betting world is onto something.
