Noted North Carolina alum and the greatest basketballer ever, Michael Jordan, will serve as an honorary captain for Michigan when the Wolverines open their season Sept. 3 against Hawaii, coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Friday, according to Brendan F. Quinn of MLive.

The arrival of "His Airness" coincides with the beginning of Michigan's new apparel deal with the Jordan brand, which is set to kick in two days earlier and run for the next 15 seasons.

Michigan will be the first college football program to sport Jumpman gear, but probably not the last.
