LSU's Fournette leads media days' preseason All-SEC team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) LSU tailback Leonard Fournette is the leading vote getter in the media days' preseason All-Southeastern Conference team while Alabama led the way with seven first-team picks.

The SEC released the teams on Friday based on voting from those covering the league's media days this week.

Fournette was picked on 329 of 331 ballots. Mississippi's Chad Kelly is the first-team quarterback after receiving 321 votes. Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley received the third-most votes at 318.

Fournette was two votes shy of joining Arkansas' Darren McFadden in 2000 as the only unanimous selections.

Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen's 301 votes led the way on defense.

Texas A&M's Christian Kirk made the first team as a wide receiver, all-purpose back and return specialist.
