Ladies and gentlemen, we have a matchup 82 years in the making.

Oklahoma and Temple are going to get quite familiar with each other over the next five seasons, as both universities announced an upcoming three game series. The Sooners and the Owls both posted the announcement on their official athletic websites.

The series will kick off on Aug. 31, 2024 in Oklahoma, before shifting to Philadelphia for game two on Sept. 13, 2025. The final game will take place just under three years later, on Sept. 2, 2028 back in Oklahoma.

The Sooners and Owls have battled twice in the past but not since 1942. Each team owns a win against the other, the Sooners winning 9-6 during a matchup in 1940, and the Owls owning the most recent victory by a score of 14-7 in 1942.
