The attorney for Alabama's Cam Robinson and Laurence "Hootie" Jones has come to the players defense, after public outcry following the announcement the two would not face prosecution for weapons and drug charges due to lack of evidence.

The decision against pursuing charges on the two players immediately led to concerns that the football stars were getting preferential treatment, something attorney Joe D. Guerrerio strongly refuted to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Robinson is an All-SEC offensive tackle that is considered to be one of the top prospects for next year's NFL Draft, while Jones is a backup safety for Nick Saban's program.

Alabama opens their season Sept. 3 against USC.
